The basic building unit is a block, but you can also use wheels, special connectors, engine, propellers, etc. There are also several different kinds of blocks and even paint that you can use to customize your creations as you see fit.
Although it takes a while to get used to the interface, you can create whatever you want in no time at all. On the bottom, there's a panel with shortcuts and a backpack full of extra tools to use. There's also several different environments where you can try out what you build.
